Summer of 1975. A thirteen-year-old girl becomes, without anyone asking her consent, the "arminuta" (the returned one). That is, she returns to her biological family, of whom she knew nothing. She goes from a comfortable middle-class existence to a life in the Abruzzo countryside, where poverty and lack of education prevail.
